After completion of the required 60 credits during the first two years in the program, MFA students in the Writing Program must register for Research Arts to maintain continuous full-time enrollment. During this time, students are expected to spend at least 36 hours each week (equivalent to 12 semester credit hours) in independent research and study. As part of Research Arts, students may attend group critiques, master classes/workshops, and/or be engaged in individual and/or group projects, productions, as well as other co-curricular instructional activities, as stipulated by their program.
Prerequisite: completion of all M.Phil. requirements, and approval of a research proposal by the supervising faculty adviser.
Required for all M.S. students in residence in their first semester. Topics related to professional development and the practice of chemical engineering. No degree credits granted. Intended for M.S students only; and not for M.S./Ph.D. track, Ph.D. or D.E.S. students.
Prerequisites: the permission of the instructor in charge of the students field of research. Individual research in the students field of specialization. The research may lead to a doctoral dissertation or to contributions for publications.
Points of credit to be approved by the department. Requires submission of an outline of the proposed research for approval by the faculty member who is to supervise the work of the student. The research facilities of the department are available to qualified students interested in advanced study.
MA Film & Media Studies students register for this class in their thesis semester to maintain full-time enrollment.
Open only to graduate students in the basic medical science departments. Prerequisite: course director’s permission. Current research in pathology and pathobiology. Conferences and invited speakers. Assigned readings.
Prerequisites: high-quality work in the previous term. Arrangements must be made with the director of graduate studies. Tutorial work in specialized research topics.
