A candidate for the Eng.Sc.D. degree in biomedical engineering must register for 12 points of doctoral research instruction. Registration may not be used to satisfy the minimum residence requirement for the degree.

A candidate for the doctorate in biomedical engineering or applied biology may be required to register for this course in every term after the student's course work has been completed and until the dissertation has been accepted.

Seismology Seminar: Topics in Global and Regional Seismology , Earth structure at global and regional scales; earthquake source analysis; seismotectonics; current topics in the geophysical literature.
All anthropology graduate students are required to attend. Reports of ongoing research are presented by staff members, students, and special guests.
Prerequisite:
completion of all M.Phil. requirements. Ph.D. candidates may be required to register for this course every term during the preparation of the dissertation.
